Dira Sengwe, organisers of the 11th South African AIDS Conference, invites the nomination of individuals for its Emerging Leadership in AIDS Award 2023. This Award will be made to an individual that has made an extraordinary contribution in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Such a significant contribution should have had a substantial impact (big difference) in the HIV/AIDS world in the last five years in the sub-Saharan region. This may include activities related to human rights, treatment, research and development, policy making and access to care for people living with HIV/AIDS.
Any individual or organization working in sub-Saharan African under the age of 40 years on 31 May 2023.
Submit an essay in English, not exceeding 200 words, that briefly describes the extraordinary actions/achievements activities that the individual has been involved in.
Provide evidence to verify these actions/activities/achievements must accompany every essay.
Provide proof that the nominee will be under 40 years old on 31 May 2023.
The nominee should be under the age of 40 years on 31 May 2023
The quality of the contribution, its significance which may include the degree of innovation or initiative displayed by the nominee
The quantity or extent of the impact, in terms of the number of people reached or affected by the nominee, including the length of time that the nominee has been active
Essay must be in English, not exceeding 200 words.
Evidence to verify these actions/activities/achievements must accompany every essay.

The decision of the judges will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Members of the Dira Sengwe Board, their family members, and employees or individuals contracted by the Dira Sengwe Board may not enter this competition.
